Roman Decline Paragraph

In a body paragraph, explain the decline of the Roman Empire. Be sure to include at least 10 facts and five sentences of explanation. Explanation sentences should link a fact or example to the fall of Roman Civilization. Be sure to use the phrase "fall of Roman civilization" or similar phrases regularly. The paragraph should be at least half a page long and not more than one page total. Below is an example of explanation. Let's say you are trying to show that the US is in decline. You choose to use the fact that our morals are in decline as evidence. You could write the sentence "Since the US morals are in decline the fall of US civilization is near". That sentence needs more of a link between the fact and the result. Why do poor morals lead to the fall of civilization?


To create the link ask "what did that fact directly result in" over and over until you get to the eventual result you are hoping to prove.

A better sentence might be "The decline in American morals has led frequent corruption in government, marital unfaithfulness, and irresponsible business practices. Untrustworthy government, weak families and greedy business all could contribute to the decline of American civilization.

Roman Building Body paragraph

Research one of the important buildings during Ancient Rome and explain their importance in a body paragraph. Your body paragraph must have the following:
1. A topic sentence naming the dynasty you researched and what it accomplished
2. At least 5 sentences explaining the dynasty or its accomplishments in more detail.
3. At least 10 facts about the building. A fact is a name, date, place or event. The facts are not sentences but are includes within sentences.

For example, the sentence "Lake City High School is big". has one fact (Lake City High School).
